The Two Core Investigations
This retreat weaves together two distinct yet complementary explorations with this chart as the foundation:
The Architecture of Tonality is the tonal foundation of elemental harmony. The ‘AOT’ is the tonal foundation of this elemental harmony approach. Tower developed this to unify the three harmony worlds.
1. Elemental Harmony Instruments
Participants will dive into the essence of original instruments whose voices are “sounds as of yet unheard”. We will explore new ways of listening, and how elemental materials shape tone, resonance, presence, and how these principles can significantly enhance your playing on any instrument.
Instruments explored include:
• The Samalan
• The Innato
• Soundstone
• Euphony
• Ehecatel
• Flumie Gong
These elemental harmony instruments will reveal new ways for approaching your instrument(s). The principles explored here are directly transferable to your current instrument(s) and musical practice.
2. Didgeridoo: The Art of One Breath
Alan will share a breakthrough approach to Didgeridoo playing that unlocks the richest, most powerful, and softest sounds possible. This method bypasses the traditional emphasis on circular breathing, allowing it to arise naturally and effortlessly. For those already circular breathing, the retreat offers an opportunity to refine and elevate the techniques to a new expanded level.
